What distinguishes a filling machine from a complete filling line?

A single filling machine handles a specific process step, such as the dosing of sauce, vegetables, or brine. A complete filling line connects several machines, workstations, and transport systems into a continuous production process.

Depending on the application, a filling line can include cleaning the packaging, various dosing processes, manual additions, control systems, automatic lid feeding, closing technology, labeling, as well as grouping and packaging the finished jars.

Modules of a complete bottling line

1. Clean glasses, bottles or cans

Rinsers and cleaning systems remove foreign matter from empty packaging. Depending on the product and hygiene concept, cleaning can be carried out with water, compressed air, steam, or sterile air.

Cleaning systems and rinsers

2. Dosage of spices and chunky foods

Product-specific dosing systems process, among other things, spices, vegetables, mushrooms, olives, legumes, pieces of meat, nuts, and other chunky foods. The choice of dosing method depends on the size of the pieces, their stickiness, moisture content, and the desired fill quantity.

3. Filling liquid, pasty and viscous products

Various filling methods are available for brine, vinegar, oil, marinades, sauces, soups, spreads, and other liquid or pasty food products. Filling valves, product tanks, and agitators are tailored to the specific consistency and process requirements.

From product idea to running bottling line

1. Clarify requirements

We record product, piece size and consistency, fill quantity, packaging and lid formats, desired output, available production area and the intended shelf-life method.

2. Test the product and packaging

For demanding applications, we test the product, jars, and lids under realistic conditions. This allows the dosing and sealing concept to be verified before the final design.

3. Develop the line concept and layout

The necessary machines, workstations, conveyor routes, and buffer zones are integrated into a coordinated process. Existing machinery and spatial constraints are taken into account during the planning phase.

4. Manufacture, integrate and commission

Once the concept is approved, the components are manufactured, assembled, and tested. Installation, commissioning, and training are planned on a project-specific basis.

5. Expand production

Thanks to its modular design, the line can later be supplemented with additional dosing units, control systems, labeling or automatic final packaging.

Frequently asked questions about complete bottling lines

Which food products can be processed with a filling line?

The production lines are designed for each specific product. Possible applications range from liquid and pasty foods such as brine, oil, sauces, soups, honey, or jam to solid products such as vegetables, mushrooms, olives, pieces of meat, nuts, or delicatessen items.

Can existing machines be integrated into a new production line?

Yes. Existing filling machines, cappers, conveyor technology or other components can be integrated into a new line layout after technical review.

What production output is possible?

The achievable output depends on the product, fill quantity, packaging format, number of filling stations, and degree of automation. Therefore, line output is always calculated for the specific application.

Is a modular bottling line also suitable for growing businesses?

Yes. A line can initially be set up with the necessary core modules and later expanded to include additional dosing units, automatic lid feeding, control systems or final packaging.

What information is needed to prepare a quote?

At a minimum, the following information is required: product description, fill quantity, jar and lid sizes, desired output, and details of the pasteurization or sterilization process. For complex applications, product and packaging samples as well as a facility layout are required.
